
Beef Stew
A rich and comforting beef stew made with Tami Fresh Tomato Pasta Sauce, slow-simmered with vegetables and aromatic spices. Perfect served with nshima, rice, mashed potatoes, or fresh bread.
Tami Fresh Products Used
Ingredients
- 700g beef stewing steak, cut into cubes
- 1 jar Tami Fresh Tomato Pasta Sauce
- 2 tbsp vegetable oil
- 1 large onion, diced
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tsp grated fresh ginger
- 2 carrots, sliced
- 2 potatoes, cubed
- 1 beef stock cube
- 1½ cups water
- 1 tsp paprika
- ½ tsp black pepper
- Salt, to taste
- Fresh parsley or coriander, chopped

Heat the vegetable oil in a large pot over medium-high heat.

Brown the beef in batches until sealed on all sides, then set aside.

In the same pot, cook the onion until soft.

Add the garlic and ginger and cook for 1 minute.

Return the beef to the pot and stir in the paprika.

Pour in the Tami Fresh Tomato Pasta Sauce, water, and crumbled beef stock cube.

Bring to a gentle boil, then reduce the heat and simmer for 40 minutes.

Add the carrots and potatoes and continue cooking for 20 minutes, or until the vegetables are tender and the beef is soft.

Season with salt and black pepper to taste.

Garnish with fresh parsley or coriander and serve hot with nshima, rice, mashed potatoes, or crusty bread.
